About Text Case Converter
A text case converter changes the capital letters in your text without retyping it. This one is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser, so the text you paste is never uploaded.
It has 15 cases. For writing there are UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case in four style guides (AP, APA, Chicago and MLA), Sentence case, Capitalized Case, aLtErNaTiNg and iNVERSE. For code and file names there are camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE, dot.case, path/case and Train-Case.
Line breaks are kept, so you can convert a list of headings or variable names in one go. If you do not like the result, press Undo to go back, or use Use result as input to chain two conversions.
How to use Text Case Converter
- Type or paste your text into the box.
- Click the case you want. On the main page the text in the box changes in place, and Undo steps back.
- For Title Case, pick a style: AP, APA, Chicago or MLA. The result updates to follow that guide.
- On a page for one case, such as Uppercase, the converted text appears under the box in a Result field, and you can pick another case to compare.
- Press Copy to put the result on your clipboard, or Download .txt to save it as a file.
Features
- 15 cases from UPPERCASE to Train-Case, as one-click buttons.
- Title Case with four style guides: AP, APA, Chicago and MLA.
- Sentence case that also capitalises the word "I".
- Code cases that split camelCase and mixed separators into words first, so getUserName converts cleanly.
- Line breaks are kept, and each line is converted on its own for the code cases.
- Undo, Use result as input, Copy and Download .txt.
- Handles accented letters and other scripts that have letter case.
- Nothing is saved or uploaded.
Worked examples
a tale of two cities from the past gives AP: A Tale of Two Cities From the Past Chicago: A Tale of Two Cities from the Past
The two guides differ on "from": AP capitalises words of four letters or more, Chicago lowercases every preposition.
getUserProfileName gives snake_case: get_user_profile_name kebab-case: get-user-profile-name CONSTANT_CASE: GET_USER_PROFILE_NAME
The converter finds the word boundaries in camelCase before it joins them again.
convert this text. i think i am done gives Sentence case: Convert this text. I think I am done
The first letter after a full stop is capitalised, and a lone "i" becomes "I".

Good to know
What the converter cannot know
It works from rules, not from meaning. Title Case and Capitalized Case lowercase the rest of each word, so an acronym such as NASA becomes "Nasa" and "iPhone" becomes "Iphone". Sentence case does the same to proper nouns. Fix those by hand after converting.
Title case is applied one line at a time, as if each line were a title. A word that follows a full stop in the middle of a line is not capitalised, and a hyphenated word has every part capitalised, so "state-of-the-art" becomes "State-Of-The-Art". Check headings against your own style guide before you publish.
In the code cases, letters and digits are separate words, so "v2" becomes "v-2" in kebab-case. Punctuation is dropped, and so is anything that is not a letter or a digit.
Privacy: how it works
- The conversion runs in your browser tab. Your text is not sent to Ulkaa or to any other server.
- This tool does not save your text. Close or reload the page and it is gone.
Tips
- Convert to lowercase first when text arrives in capitals, and then to Sentence case to fix it. Typing in capitals is the usual cause.
- Use Use result as input to chain cases, for example Title Case and then camelCase.
- Check small words in a Title Case result. The guides disagree on prepositions of four letters or more, so pick the one your publisher uses.
- Convert a whole list of names at once. Every line is handled on its own for the code cases.

What is title case?
A style where the main words of a heading start with a capital and small words such as "the", "and" and "of" stay lowercase. The exact list of small words depends on the style guide, which is why AP, APA, Chicago and MLA are all offered.
What is the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?
Both join words with no spaces and capitalise each word after the first. camelCase starts with a small letter (userProfile) and PascalCase starts with a capital (UserProfile).
What is snake_case used for?
It joins lowercase words with underscores. It is common for variable and file names in Python and in database columns. CONSTANT_CASE is the same with capitals.
How do I capitalise the first letter of every word?
Click Capitalized Case. It starts every word with a capital and lowercases the rest. Use Title Case if you want small words such as "of" to stay small.
Does it keep my line breaks?
Yes. Line breaks stay where they are, and the code cases convert each line separately.
Does it work with accented letters?
Yes. Letters with accents and other scripts that have capitals, such as Greek and Cyrillic, change case. Languages with special rules, such as Turkish dotted i, may not follow their local convention.
