About Free Machine Learning Tools
These machine learning tools are free, need no sign-up and run in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and no server does the training. The TensorFlow Playground trains a small neural network with TensorFlow.js on your own device, using data generated in the page.
Choose a dataset (circle, XOR, two Gaussians or spiral), set the layers, neurons, activation and learning rate, and watch the training and test loss fall as the decision boundary takes shape. Changing one setting at a time shows what each does, including why a linear network cannot learn a circle and how overfitting looks.
It is a teaching tool. There are no custom datasets and no weight diagrams, and it is not the original Google playground.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no price, no trial and no credit card. Ulkaa Tool does the work with your own device, so there is no server bill to pass on to you.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login. Open the page and use it. An Ulkaa account is not needed for anything on this tool.
Does it run in my browser?
Yes. Your settings are processed by code running in your browser tab, on your own device.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Your settings are never sent to Ulkaa or to anyone else. You can check this yourself by watching the Network tab in your browser developer tools while you use the tool.
Does it train on a server?
No. The training runs in your browser with TensorFlow.js, on your own device. TensorFlow.js ships with the site.
Can I use my own data?
No. The playground uses four generated 2D datasets: circle, XOR, two Gaussians and spiral.
Is this the official TensorFlow Playground?
No. It is a separate tool by Ulkaa built with TensorFlow.js. It does not draw individual neurons or weights.
