About Free Text Tools
These free text tools cover the small jobs that come up whenever you write or handle text: counting words, fixing capitals, replacing a phrase, checking spelling or encoding a string. They need no sign-up and run in your browser, so the text you paste is never uploaded.
For writing there is a word counter with reading time and keyword density, a character counter with live limits for X, Instagram, SMS and SEO, an American English spell check, a text case converter with AP, APA, Chicago and MLA title case, a find and replace tool with regex, and an online text editor with rich text, notepad and Markdown modes.
For developers and curious people there is a JSON formatter and validator, a Base64 encoder and decoder, a URL encoder and decoder, a hash generator for MD5, SHA and more, and a Morse code translator. A small argument compiler helps break down a heated disagreement into claims and common ground.
Each tool page explains how it counts or converts, shows worked examples and answers the questions people usually ask, and many have dedicated pages for a specific job, such as an essay word counter, an Instagram caption counter or a snake_case converter.
