About Trapezoid Area Calculator
This trapezoid area calculator averages the two parallel sides and multiplies by the height: A = ½(a + b)h. The page opens on sides 6 and 10 with height 5 and shows the result in square feet. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser, so nothing you enter is uploaded.
Sides 6 and 10 average to 8, and 8 × 5 = 40 square metres, about 430.6 square feet. The slanted legs are not needed.

Tips

- For an L-shaped room, split it into two rectangles, find each area and add them.
- A rhombus needs its two diagonals, not its side length.

A four-sided shape with one pair of parallel sides. In British English it is called a trapezium.
Do I need the slanted sides?
No. Only the parallel sides and the perpendicular height matter for the area.
