This land area calculator is set up for a rectangular plot in feet and shows the result in katha, with every other unit listed too: decimal (shotangsho), bigha, acres, hectares and square metres. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser, so nothing you enter is uploaded.
A plot of 60 ft by 40 ft is 2400 square feet, which is 3.3333333 katha at 720 square feet each, and 5.5096419 decimal.

Tips
- Measure everything in the same unit before you enter it, or set the unit selector to match.
- The height of a triangle, trapezoid or parallelogram is the perpendicular distance, not the slanted side.
- For an L-shaped room, split it into two rectangles, find each area and add them.
- A rhombus needs its two diagonals, not its side length.

Is my data uploaded?
No. Your measurements are never sent to Ulkaa or to anyone else. You can check this yourself by watching the Network tab in your browser developer tools while you use the tool.
How many square feet are in one katha?
This tool uses 720 square feet, a common value in Dhaka. It varies by district.
How many katha are in a bigha?
20 katha, or 14,400 square feet, using the same convention.
Is this legally valid?
No. It is an arithmetic aid. Legal measurements come from the deed and the land survey.
