Convert MP4 to MP3 free: no sign-up, no upload
Convert MP4 to MP3 free. There is no sign-up or login, no watermark, and nothing is uploaded, because your files never leave your browser. It pulls the sound track out of an MP4 video and saves it as an MP3 audio file you can play anywhere.
People usually do this to keep a lecture, interview, podcast recorded on video, concert clip or voice memo as audio only. An MP3 is far smaller than the video it came from, plays on practically every phone, car stereo and music player, and is easy to share.
The picture is simply left out. Only the audio track is decoded and re-encoded as MP3, so the conversion is mostly limited by the length of the recording. Long videos take longer, and very large files may be slow or fail on a weak device because everything runs on your own processor and memory.

About the formats
About MP4
MP4 is a container that holds video and audio together, most often H.264 video with AAC audio. The audio inside is already compressed, which matters for the conversion below.
About MP3
MP3 is a lossy audio format. It is older than AAC and Opus but is the format that practically every player understands, which is why people still pick it for sharing and for old devices.
What changes in the conversion
The audio in an MP4 is usually already lossy. Turning it into an MP3 compresses it a second time, so a small loss of quality is possible, most noticeable at low bitrates. If you only want to keep the audio without any further loss, an M4A file keeps the original AAC sound, but it is less universal than MP3.
Nothing can be gained back: converting to MP3 will never make quiet or noisy audio sound better than it did in the video.
Privacy: how it works
- Your videos stay on your device. The page reads each file with the browser's file API, converts it with code running in the tab, and hands the result back as a download. No upload happens, so there is no copy of your file on our servers to protect, delete or leak.
- There is nothing to sign up for and no login. The converter does not ask for an email address, and it does not need to know who you are to do its job.
- You can check the claim yourself: open your browser developer tools, watch the Network tab while a file converts, and you will see no request that carries your file.
- Videos often contain private moments and voices. Because the extraction happens in the tab, the recording is never copied anywhere.
Tips
- Choose a higher MP3 quality for music and a lower one for speech, where small files matter more than fidelity.
- If the video has no audio track, there is nothing to extract and the result will be silent or the conversion will fail.
- Convert one long video at a time on a phone to avoid running out of memory.
- Trim the video first if you only need part of it, since a shorter clip converts faster.
- Check the result in a player before deleting the original video.
- Rename the output to something descriptive, because the file keeps the video name.
- Only convert recordings you have the right to use. Extracting audio does not change who owns it.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no price, no trial, no credit card and no watermark added to your results. Ulkaa Tool does the conversion with your own device, so there is no server bill to pass on to you.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Your videos are read and converted inside your browser and are never sent to Ulkaa or to anyone else. The result is created on your device and you save it from there.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login. Open the page, add your files and convert. An Ulkaa account is not needed for anything on this tool.
Is there a file size limit?
No limit is set by us. The real limit is your device: the conversion uses your own memory and processor, so very large files can be slow or fail on a weak phone or an older computer. Close other heavy tabs and convert videos one at a time if a big batch struggles.
