Free font converter with no sign-up and no upload
This font converter is free, needs no sign-up or login, and does not upload your fonts. TTF, OTF, WOFF, WOFF2 and EOT files are read and converted inside your browser, so they never leave your device. The result carries no watermark.
Pick the format you need and every other font format is a valid source. Web developers usually want WOFF2 and WOFF for websites, designers often start from TTF or OTF, and very old projects may still ask for EOT. Each of the five formats can be converted to each of the others.
Converting a font changes the wrapper around it, not the design. The glyph shapes stay the same. A font file is also a licensed piece of software, so make sure your licence allows web use or format conversion before you publish a converted copy.
Working with WOFF2 needs a small conversion engine, because that format is compressed with Brotli. Your browser downloads it once, about 0.3 MB, the first time you convert to or from WOFF2, and keeps it afterwards. Converting between TTF, OTF, WOFF and EOT does not need it.

How to convert
- Drag your font files onto the page, or choose them with the file picker.
- Check that each file was recognised as TTF, OTF, WOFF, WOFF2 or EOT.
- Choose the target format, for example WOFF2 for a website or TTF for desktop use.

- Press Convert and let the fonts process on your device.
- Download each font separately, or take a batch as one ZIP file.

- Converting between TTF, OTF, WOFF and EOT needs no engine download.
- Glyph shapes are not redrawn: only the font format changes.
- Free, with no sign-up, no upload and no watermark.

About the formats
About TTF
TrueType is the font format that Apple and Microsoft developed together in the late 1980s. It works on every desktop operating system, which makes it the safe choice for installing a font on a computer.
About OTF
OpenType with PostScript outlines comes from Adobe and Microsoft. It supports advanced typography such as ligatures and alternate glyphs, and it is common among professional designers.
About WOFF and WOFF2
WOFF, the Web Open Font Format, is a compressed font for websites and is supported by every modern browser. WOFF2 is the second version, compressed with Brotli, and is typically smaller than WOFF.
For a website today, WOFF2 is the usual first choice, with WOFF as a fallback for older browsers.
About EOT
Embedded OpenType is a web font format that only Internet Explorer used. It is needed only for very old browsers, so skip it unless a project asks for it.
Desktop fonts vs web fonts
TTF and OTF are made to be installed on a computer and used in apps. WOFF and WOFF2 are the same type of data packed smaller for fast delivery in a web page.
You can install a TTF or OTF on your system, but you generally use WOFF or WOFF2 through your site's CSS. Converting between them lets one family serve both jobs.
Privacy: how it works
- Your font files stay on your device. The page reads each file with the browser's file API, converts it with code running in the tab, and hands the result back as a download. No upload happens, so there is no copy of your file on our servers to protect, delete or leak.
- There is nothing to sign up for and no login. The converter does not ask for an email address, and it does not need to know who you are to do its job.
- Some conversions use a WebAssembly engine that your browser downloads once, the first time you need it. Only the engine is fetched, never your file, and the page shows the approximate size before it starts. Your browser caches it, so later conversions skip the download.
- You can check the claim yourself: open your browser developer tools, watch the Network tab while a file converts, and you will see no request that carries your file.
- Fonts are valuable files, and many are licensed for a single user or a single project. Keeping the conversion on your device means a licensed or unreleased typeface is never copied to a server.
Tips
- Serve WOFF2 first on a website, and add WOFF only if you need to reach older browsers.
- Use TTF or OTF when you want to install a font on Windows, macOS or Linux.
- Convert only fonts you have the right to convert. Check the licence for web or embedding permission.
- Keep the original TTF or OTF as your master, and treat the web formats as generated copies.
- Test the converted font in a real page and look at special characters, ligatures and accents.
- Convert every weight and style of a family together, so the set stays consistent.
- Skip EOT unless a project requires support for very old Internet Explorer versions.
- Name your converted files clearly, for example with the weight and format, before uploading them to your own server.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no price, no trial, no credit card and no watermark added to your results. Ulkaa Tool does the conversion with your own device, so there is no server bill to pass on to you.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Your fonts are read and converted inside your browser and are never sent to Ulkaa or to anyone else. The result is created on your device and you save it from there. Some conversions load a small conversion engine the first time you use them. That download is the only network traffic, it contains no file of yours, and your browser keeps it for next time.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login. Open the page, add your files and convert. An Ulkaa account is not needed for anything on this tool.
Is there a file size limit?
No limit is set by us. The real limit is your device: the conversion uses your own memory and processor, so very large files can be slow, and a very big batch may need to be split into smaller runs.
