Turn a PDF into an editable Word file, free with no sign-up and no upload
This PDF to DOCX converter is free, needs no sign-up or login, and does not upload your file. The PDF is read in your browser, and the Word document is created on your device with no watermark.
The goal is simple: get the words out of a PDF so you can edit them. Be clear about how it works. A PDF stores where each piece of text sits on a page, not paragraphs. The converter extracts the text and images and rebuilds them as a simple flowing document, so it does not reproduce the original layout.
Expect headings and paragraphs you can edit, and expect to tidy the columns, tables and positioned elements by hand. A scanned PDF is a picture of a page, with no text to extract.

About the formats
About PDF
PDF is built to look identical everywhere. It places text and graphics at fixed positions and usually has no notion of paragraphs, columns or tables as structure.
About DOCX
DOCX is the Microsoft Word format, a ZIP of XML files made for editing. Text lives in paragraphs, which is exactly what a PDF lacks.
Why PDF to DOCX is never exact
Going from fixed positions back to flowing paragraphs means guessing. Text is rebuilt in reading order and images are placed in the flow. Multi-column pages, tables and text boxes may need manual repair afterwards.
If you need the layout kept, use PDF to JPG instead, or edit the PDF with a PDF editor.
Privacy: how it works
- Your PDF files stay on your device. The page reads each file with the browser's file API, converts it with code running in the tab, and hands the result back as a download. No upload happens, so there is no copy of your file on our servers to protect, delete or leak.
- There is nothing to sign up for and no login. The converter does not ask for an email address, and it does not need to know who you are to do its job.
- You can check the claim yourself: open your browser developer tools, watch the Network tab while a file converts, and you will see no request that carries your file.
- PDFs are often invoices, statements or signed forms. Converting in the tab means those pages are never copied to a server.
Tips
- Start with a PDF made from a document, not a scan.
- Expect to fix tables and columns by hand.
- Compare the result with the PDF before relying on it.
- Remove the password from a protected PDF first.
- For only the words, PDF to TXT is cleaner.
- Keep the PDF as your reference copy.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no price, no trial, no credit card and no watermark added to your results. Ulkaa Tool does the conversion with your own device, so there is no server bill to pass on to you.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Your PDF files are read and converted inside your browser and are never sent to Ulkaa or to anyone else. The result is created on your device and you save it from there.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login. Open the page, add your files and convert. An Ulkaa account is not needed for anything on this tool.
Is there a file size limit?
No limit is set by us. The real limit is your device: the conversion uses your own memory and processor, so very large files can be slow, and a very big batch may need to be split into smaller runs.
