DOCX is the default Microsoft Word format since Word 2007. It is a ZIP archive of XML files that describe text, styles, images and page settings, and it is meant to be edited.
About PDF
PDF is a fixed-layout format created by Adobe and standardised as ISO 32000. It looks the same on every device, which is why it is the usual choice for finished documents.
DOCX vs PDF
DOCX is for working on a document, PDF is for sharing it. This converter rebuilds your document from its content, so line breaks and page breaks can differ slightly from what Word shows. Fonts that are not available in your browser may be replaced.
