About Text to Speech With Download
This page opens in Natural mode, which generates speech with the Kokoro 82M model and lets you download the result as a WAV file. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser, so nothing you enter is uploaded.
The model is 93 MB, licensed Apache-2.0, and loads from Hugging Face. The tool shows the size and waits for your tap before it downloads, then shows progress. After that, the text is turned into speech on your device, one sentence at a time, and joined into a single 16-bit mono WAV file.
Generating speech is slower than the Instant voices, especially on a phone without WebGPU. Natural mode has English voices only. If you do not need a file, Instant mode starts immediately with no download.
How to use Text to Speech With Download
- Type or paste your text into the text box. The character and sentence counts appear under it.
- Choose Instant to use device voices, or Natural to generate speech you can save.
- In Instant mode pick All voices, English or Bangla, then choose a voice from the list and set the speed and pitch.
- Press Speak. The current sentence is highlighted. Use Pause, Resume and Stop to control it.
- In Natural mode press Download voice, confirm the 93 MB download, choose a voice and press Generate speech.
- When Natural mode finishes, play the result and press Download WAV to save it.

Privacy: how it works
- Your text is processed in your browser and is never sent to Ulkaa or to anyone else. Instant mode uses a voice that is already on your device and downloads nothing.
- Natural mode downloads one model, Kokoro 82M, from Hugging Face the first time you confirm it. The request does not include your text, and your browser may cache the model.
Tips
- Put a full stop, question mark or danda at the end of each sentence. The tool pauses and highlights at those marks.
- If a voice sounds flat, try another from the list. The quality differs a lot between voices.
- Spell out abbreviations and numbers you want read a certain way, for example write twenty twenty-six instead of 2026.
- On a phone, turn off silent mode, or the speech may play with no sound.

Is it really free?
Yes. There is no price, no trial and no credit card. Ulkaa Tool does the work with your own device, so there is no server bill to pass on to you.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login. Open the page and use it. An Ulkaa account is not needed for anything on this tool.
Does it run in my browser?
Yes. Your text are processed by code running in your browser tab, on your own device.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Your text are never sent to Ulkaa or to anyone else. You can check this yourself by watching the Network tab in your browser developer tools while you use the tool.
How big is the download?
The Kokoro 82M model is 93 MB. The tool asks you to confirm before it starts, and your browser may cache it afterwards.
Can I get an MP3?
The tool saves WAV. Convert the WAV to MP3 with the audio converter on this site if you need a smaller file.
How long does it take?
It depends on your device. A computer with WebGPU is quicker; on a phone expect it to take longer than the length of the audio.
