About MPG to L/100 km Converter
This converter turns miles per gallon into liters per 100 km. The two are inverses of each other, so the conversion divides a constant by the value instead of multiplying. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser, so nothing you enter is uploaded.
For example, 30 mpg is 7.84049 L/100 km, and 40 mpg is 5.88036 L/100 km. Notice the change is not proportional: doubling one value does not double the other, it halves it.

MPG to L/100 km formula
Fuel use per distance and distance per fuel are reciprocals, so there is no single factor. The constant 235.2146 is 100 km in miles times the US gallon in liters.
The same formula works in both directions: divide 235.2146 by the value you have.
