Bangladesh land units: the assumptions used here
This page uses 1 decimal (shotangsho) = 435.6 sq ft, 1 katha = 720 sq ft and 1 bigha = 20 katha = 14,400 sq ft. A decimal is one hundredth of an acre, so that value is exact. The katha and bigha are not national standards.
Katha and bigha sizes differ by district. In some places a katha is closer to 1.5 to 1.65 decimal (about 653 to 719 sq ft). Use this page for estimates, and check the area written on the deed or the survey record before you buy, sell or build.
