About Multiple Choice Test Generator
This multiple choice test generator turns the questions and options you write into a test you can take straight away, print or save as a file. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser, so nothing you enter is uploaded.
It does not write the questions for you. You supply them, which keeps the test on the material you are studying or teaching and keeps the content on your device. To build a long test quickly, paste your questions in the text format, with a star in front of each correct option, or import a JSON file you saved earlier.
For a fair test, switch on Shuffle questions and Shuffle options, set a timer for the whole test and press Play. When you submit you get the score and a percentage, and the wrong answers are marked. For a paper test, use Printable and print the sheet and the answer key.
How to use Multiple Choice Test Generator
- Write a question in the first box. Pick its type: multiple choice, true or false, or short answer.
- For multiple choice, type the four options and select the radio button of the correct one. For true or false, select the correct side. For short answer, type the accepted answer, and separate alternatives with a vertical bar.
- Press Add question and repeat. To add many at once, press Paste questions and paste your list in the format shown.
- Choose your settings: shuffle the questions, shuffle the options of multiple choice questions, and set a timer in minutes if you want one. A timer of 0 means no timer.
- Press Play to take the quiz. Answer each question and submit to see your score and the questions you missed.
- To keep or share the quiz, press Export JSON. To use it on paper, press Printable, then Print quiz or Print answer key.

Privacy: how it works
- Your questions and answers are handled by code in your browser tab and are never sent to Ulkaa or anyone else. The quiz you are editing is saved automatically in your own browser storage on this device.
Tips
- Write one idea per question and make wrong options plausible, so the quiz tests understanding and not guessing.
- For short answers, list the common spellings and forms with a vertical bar, such as USA | United States | US.
- Export a JSON file after you finish a quiz you want to keep, because browser storage can be cleared.
- Switch on both shuffles before you play a quiz you wrote, so you learn the answers and not the order.

Is it really free?
Yes. There is no price, no trial and no credit card. Ulkaa Tool does the work with your own device, so there is no server bill to pass on to you.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login. Open the page and use it. An Ulkaa account is not needed for anything on this tool.
Does it run in my browser?
Yes. Your questions are processed by code running in your browser tab, on your own device.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Your questions are never sent to Ulkaa or to anyone else. You can check this yourself by watching the Network tab in your browser developer tools while you use the tool.
Can I make a test without an account?
Yes. Nothing on this tool needs an account.
Does it generate questions automatically?
No. You write the questions and options yourself. The tool formats the test and scores it.
Can I reuse a test later?
Yes. The quiz is autosaved in your browser, and you can export a JSON file to keep or share a copy.
